Monika Armand ist Diplom Pädagogin. Bereits während ihres Studiums hat sie sich besonders der Frage gewidmet, welche Bedeutung die Neurowissenschaften und Psychologie für die Betrachtung vom Handeln in Unterricht und Erziehung haben. Sie studierte bei dem Hirnforscher Prof. Dr. Hans J. Markowitsch an der Universität Bielefeld Physiologische Psychologie und Neuropsychologie.
